This morning's poetry challenge was to write a triolet. I had to honestly Google the definition and structure of this form of poem. I had never heard of it before! My first guess was that it would be a poem with three stanzas...I was wrong! I found it a bit tricky to write and it was my first try at ever writing one. I'm enjoying this challenge because I'm definitely learning some new things, reading some great poems by others and it's certainly stretching my creative limits. Though really, what are our creative limits? Perhaps they are only the ones we put on ourselves.
Hope you enjoy!
Running waters
Running waters let my spirit run with you,
Spilling over rocks and rushing past bends
To where we meet the arms of the ocean blue.
Running waters let my spirit run with you,
Being not here nor there but one with you,
No longer thinking we're separate as mind tends.
Running waters let my spirit run with you,
Spilling over rocks and rushing past bends.
I'd love your thoughts in the comments section. Thank you! For those of you that are participating in the challenge as well feel free to leave your links to today's poem!
