What makes me smile?
My children enthusiastically turning off the t.v, preferring time playing games with me over their favorite shows.
My dog's gaze of affection as she wags her tail while I get her ready for a hike at the river.
Watching the sun rise as I chant God's names on my japa mala.
Reading a poem or post that relates so well to my own experiences. Ahh..someone who understands!
Witnessing my children's sense of wonder come alive while we are out in nature.
What little things make you smile? Please share in the comments section. Thank you!
Jessica, this was a beautiful little refresher for the morning, drawing me to a place of gratitude. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy pets make me smile.
A song that holds the same meaning as my current lesson in life...the serendipity of that moment.
Talking to an old friend.
Spending time with my grown children.
Sitting on the lanai with my husband and talking about the meaning of life.
Writing a page and then re-reading it and loving what I wrote.
Your post made me smile;) Now off I go to get some work done!
Thank you for spreading the positivity, Jess. Loved all the things that make you smile and Noah's picture of course!
ReplyDeleteOh, so many little things throughout each day bring a smile to my face, Jessica! I'm actually thinking of doing a similar post. :)
ReplyDeleteAs I commented on Corinne's post, I believe those things which make us smile remind us of what we are thankful for.
Blessings, my friend, and thanks for sharing!
Loved your list Jessica. Watching the sunrise chanting God's name definitely makes me smile too. And I smiled at your other smiles too. Lovely pic - I can just imagine Noah with that look of wonder on his face.
ReplyDeleteThis morning your post made me smile. Thank you

Great post Jessica! This morning, I woke up to a snow-covered landscape. That in itself will put a smile on my face throughout my day :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGosh. That would make me smile too, if I could rival my boys' love of computer games with a simple board game with Momma. Which I do manage occasionally; especially when we lose power.
ReplyDeleteI love that the smile list continues wherever I go :)
ReplyDeleteYour message made me smile :) I pray everything will be well soon...and another message from a special friend :)
Meditations with a friend this morning...
Little birds chirping... the sun...
My mom's voice~ the calm it brought
Quiet time with the Lord...
Lots of love :)
Hi Jessica,
ReplyDeleteI loved reading about what makes you smile.
During the winter months in the UK it's very gloomy. What makes me smile is when the sun comes out.
Beautiful! I would also definitely say that chanting on my beads (especially if I'm lucky to be near the water) is one of my favourite things. As well, kirtan, spending time with good friends talking about bhakti and writing are definitely things that make me smile!
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica :),
ReplyDeleteit's my first time on your blog.I read about you in your profile and I think we look at things in the same way. There's not only one definite truth.
As far as this post is concerned,I think it's very sweet. You've got to be very proud that your children prefer to turn off the TV to play with you. This is so rare :)...
One little thing that makes me happy is watching a YT video here and there. Most of all I enjoy videos about beauty.
Many greetings :)!
It's been a while since I've been active w/ blogging, so I'm getting caught up on favorite blogs. This concept is such a happy exercise!
ReplyDeleteSmiles:
- Hearing my mother's voice.
- Seeing daffodils and grape hyacinths in fields heralding the approach of spring.
- Reading the newest compilation of autocorrect.com's hilarious text flubs (never fails to bring tears of laughter).
- Someone special reaching out to hold my hand.
- Hugs!
These are a few, and I smiled as I wrote each one. :)
