This Moment: A Friday Tradition

This Moment
"A single photo – no words – capturing a simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember."
“This Moment” is a ritual found on Life inspired by theWee Man adopted from SouleMama which was introduced to me by Sarah-Jane. If you find yourself touched by a Moment and would like to participate, post your picture on a Friday and leave your link in the comments section.

  3. I think it was just a gardner snake, thankfully! We came across it on a trail we were hiking on, my son and I. He was fascinated by it! A man walking by helped us coax it with a stick over to the side of the trail and into the woods so it wouldn't get squished by bikes passing by!

Loved your moments Nelieta and Roy! :)

  4. I detest snakes with a passion, they're arguably the most vile creatures on earth..A prominent doctor was in our paper today, got bit by a bad boy and ended up in icu. Snakes are the devil :)

  5. There is so much misconception about snakes. They are quite harmless if you leave alone and dont threaten them. They are quite majestic actually

  6. I have to side with Rimly on this. I'm not a big fan of snakes. They freak me out too! But they do have their purposes. Of course the times when they wound and kill people are tragic and horrible, but most are harmless. They get rid of rodents..that's a plus! ;)

  7. Love you Rimly for that! Misconceptions and predjudices unfounded about snakes when they are essential in helping control rodents in many parts of the world. I love them.!

  8. Thanks Jim! Yeah, I'm always saddened when I see them squished on the trail. All too often they get in the way of bike tires. That's why we made sure this little guy made it into the woods. They are lucky to have advocates like you!

  9. Yikes...he looked seriously unhappy in that picture! I have no problems with snakes as a rule, but this one I might have taken a little wider path around. =) Hope no one was bit...

  13. Hi Jessica -

You're a much braver person than I am with snakes. Yikes! I run for the hills if and when I see one. I really get freaked out by them and most snakes are harmless. They're just creepy to me. :)

  16. Hmmm...I encountered a snake once but it was so huge, I just froze where I was. It could be really scary but the truth is the snake might be more scared than I am... poverini...
